08/12/72 - 08/12/12 = 40 YEARS!

On August 12, 1972, the two young lovebirds pictured below tied the knot.
Forty years later, they are still going strong!
We celebrated my parents' anniversary with several of their favorite things...family, friends, and of course, happy hour!  Mark and Abby hosted at their place, and we all pitched in and brought some drinks, appetizers, and desserts.

We told my parents to invite some of their closest family and friends, so it was fun to have all of the different circles overlap.  These are the Tomkins (my dad's tennis partner) and the Pikes (my mom's library friend from years back.)
The Compoz's, our long time next door neighbors, also joined in the celebration.
And no party would be complete without Uncle Dave, Aunt Sue, and Aunt Peg!

A shot of all of the "grown-ups"  Barry and Rene, some of my parents best friends, are in the middle.
The rest of us "kids" enjoyed drinking, eating, and chatting with everyone.
Ernie and Kim, and Gwen and Tim, my parents surrogate children, of course had to be there!

All of the grandkids were busy watching a movie downstairs.  So, they aren't in any pictures.  Mark and Abby's new place has a beautiful finished basement, so it was a great place for them to hang out and stay out of the way! :)
Mom and Dad, we love you very much and are so blessed to have you in our lives.  You have provided us an amazing example of marriage.  You demonstrate faith, loyalty, hard work, fun, and so much more.  A wonderful commitment to each other and to your family.  We hope to model our marriage after yours.  Happy Anniversary.

How sweet! Congratulations Barb and Bruce! I love the opening photo!
On another note: I know your uncle Dave! I often wait on him at Breakfast on Broadway! I know his order by heart!
