Backtrack To: Brady's Preschool Spring Program

Event #2: Brady's Preschool Spring Program. Next year, Brady will sport the cap and gown as he officially "graduates" from preschool. This year, he did an excellent job as a member of the choir...

Here are a few clips of the performance. Notice the continual crotch grab. An ode to the late King of Pop? No, just a potty emergency. I had to stop videoing during the last song, run down the center aisle, and rush Brady to the bathroom to avoid becoming the mom of the kid who wet himself! :)

Backtrack To: Payton's Gymnastics

We've been in our house for a week now, so most of our boxes are unpacked and we are feeling a little more settled. Now let the projects begin! I realized that I should have titled my last post Why Blogging WILL Decrease rather than Has Decreased...things have been just a little crazy around here.

Our family has had a BUNCH of events that are currently stored on my camera. I want to share them on the blog, so the next few will fall under the backtrack category.

Event #1: Payton's Gymnastics Performance. Grandma Tammy bought Payton gymnastics lessons for a Christmas present, and she loved going every Tuesday evening with Rosalind. We were invited in early May to come and see how much she has improved!

Why Blogging Has Decreased The Last Month

For anyone who might not already know, we are moving! We put our house on the market at the end of March, it sold at the end of April, and we are leaving at the end of May! More details to come, but after 8 years, we will soon be saying goodbye to our house on Scorpio Drive. Very bittersweet.

Happy Birthday To "Zoo"!

On Saturday, the 11 member Jansen clan headed down to the zoo to celebrate my mom's birthday. We typically head to my parents' house for our choice of dinner and dessert, so we decided to try something different this year! It was a cold and dreary morning, but the zoo was not very crowded, and the animals were actually quite active as they enjoyed the cooler temps.
The zookeepers said that the cats get "frisky" when it's cold.
Oma, Payton, and Nolan watching the tigers play around...
Landon enjoyed his first trip to the zoo. This hat (and his inch long "wings") were what prompted the hair cut!
Checking out the giraffes...
The polar bears were really enjoying the weather. This one stood up right against the glass and tried to balance his ball. He was huge!
Brady, Payton, and Opa were trying to squawk just like the peacocks!Trying to be the statues outside of Tropical Discovery.
All of Oma's grandkids checking out the turtles. It must be mating season, because all of the male peacocks were showing off for the females. They were fanning their feathers and shaking their booties in front of the ladies :)
The ducks were also enjoying their new families!
After all of that excitement, we set up our picnic right next to the giraffes. Again, it was a little chilly, but we had a delicious potluck lunch and some cupcakes and presents for my mom.
After lunch we checked out the rest of the zoo...the elephants, monkeys, and hippos. Abby has a video of it, but the hippo was going crazy! Running around chasing a peacock with his mouth wide open and diving into his pool. We were all entertained!
We had a great day, and it was fun to spend the day together as a family!

Landon's 1st Hair Cut

This morning, we decided it was high time our hairy little four month old got his first hair cut....see what I mean?
So, daddy got out the clipper set and scissors and got to work!I was a little worried at first, but Wes did a great job! (He did a great job on Brady's first hair cut too!)Post bath....the spike has returned!

Cinco De Mayo 5K

On Saturday, Wes and I completed the Cinco De Mayo 5K in Highlands Ranch. This was our first attempt at doing something organized, athletic, and together. We certainly didn't win or anything, but we finished and had a great time enjoying each other and the beautiful weather!
