Headin' Off To Fourth and First Grade...

The kids have been back in school for almost a month now, so it's high time I posted some pics of their first days of school!  These were taken on Back to School Night, which happened a fews days before actually started.  The kids go to their classrooms, meet their teachers, and drop off their school supplies.  That way, on the actual first day of school, they feel fully prepared.

Miss P is starting 4th grade.  I cannot believe that in two years, I will have a MIDDLE SCHOOLER!  Oh my goodness.  Payton saw this cute dress in JC Penny and begged me to buy it for her first day of school.  I think the crocs are the perfect compliment to who she is.  A little girly, a little tom boy, and totally her own person.  Payton has Mr. Watanabe, her first ever male teacher.  So far, he has been awesome!  He is very into technology, so the kids use their own computers in class every day.  Payton has learned a lot about responsibility and smart choices on the internet, etc.  Mr. Watanabe does a ton with his webpage and online homework, so I'm loving how easy it is for me to stay connected even while working full time.  Oh, one other thing...Mr. Watanabe loves golf, so instead of a traffic light system, the kids start on par each day.  They can go up to eagles and birdies for good behavior, and down to bogies and double bogies for bad choices.  Wes loves it!  Payton has two good buddies in her class, Isabella and Grace, so she has really had a great start to the school year!

Bradster is starting first grade.  Because he went to KED last year, Brady is already very comfortable being in school all day, every day.  He also kept his same teacher, Mrs. Dissler as she moved up a grade.  AND, his best buddy Danny is in his class again.  All of these things have really helped Brady have a great start to the year.  He feels comfortable and confident in where he's at.  And I have to brag about my boy a little bit here...last year, Mrs. Dissler kept talking to us about how Brady was really starting to make huge strides in Math.  So, she decided to give him the end of the year 1st grade Math Test during the first week of school.  He only missed one question!  So, we talked about our options and decided that Brady will go to the 2nd grade class during Math time each day.  Way to go buddy!

We are so lucky to have such a great school community to be a part of.  The teachers and families are so great and really look out for our kids.  Here's to a great year!
