MONSTER JAM!

I'm not exactly sure how it happened, but somewhere along the line, Brady fell in love with monster trucks. Between his 10 mini-trucks purchased from Target, his Wii video game, watching the real Monster Jam shows on the Speed Channel, and the deep, scruffy voice he and Nolan use to say G-r-a-v-e D-i-g-g-e-r and S-t-o-n-e C-r-u-s-h-e-r, Brady is insanely into monster trucks. He has even requested a monster truck birthday this year. When Wes found out that Monster Jam was coming to Denver, we knew we had to go. We should not, however, have told Brady about it until the day of the show. He asked if it was February for a good four weeks. And then, when it was February, he was disappointed that he still had to wait 13 more days :)

But, Sunday, February 13 FINALLY arrived and we headed down to the Pepsi Center. Mark, Nolan, Tim, and Rylan also joined in festivities. It was VERY loud, so headphones were a must!
The five trucks monster trucks at the show: Grave Digger, Tasmanian Devil, Stone Crusher, Iron Warrior, and Black Stallion.
Brady was super bummed because his favorite two trucks are Monster Mutt and El Toro Loco. Monster Mutt wasn't there, and this was what was left of El Toro Loco!
The first half of the show was the race. Now, when I say race, I'm sure you probably think about a circular track in a large arena. Not so much. Here's a video of the 2-SECOND races we saw...

The second half of the show was the freestyle. Each driver got 60 seconds to wow us...
Tasmanian Devil was driven by a woman, so PR decided that was her favorite. Here is a video of her freestyle...

After the show, we walked down to the parking lot where they were loading the monster trucks on to the semis. The kids thought it was hilarious that the monster trucks had to put on such tiny wheels to fit into the truck!

But it was super cool to get to see the trucks so close up.Monster Jam was an experience to say the least. The kids had a blast and are still wearing their headphones! The World Championships are in Las Vegas in March. DON'T TELL BRADY! :)
