We had the day off from school yesterday (hooray? for furlough days), so we joined Gwen, Rylan, and Reagan for a trip to the Museum of Nature & Science. Tim's company gives their family free membership, so we got to tag along for free as well!
It was SUPER crowded there...a ton of elementary and middle school groups all on field trips. So, we implemented the buddy system and set off to explore.
This T-Rex is on display right in the entrance. Payton read that T-Rex teeth are the size of bananas!

Our first stop was the Space Odyssey. The kids got to get wet and messy while playing with Mars sand. They got to steer and try to park a space shuttle. And, these pics are from heat sensing cameras. Can you make out Gwen? Payton and Madelyn? What about Brady & his cold glasses?

Right before we left, an astronaut came out into the Mars Exhibit. He talked through the glass to the kids and they could ask questions on a microphone. Payton's question? "Are there aliens on Mars?"

Our final treat in the Space Odyssey was getting to watch a movie in Gates Planetarium. We saw The Wildest Weather In The Solar System. They thought it was so cool to watch a movie on a round ceiling, and they said they felt like they were floating and spinning in the theatre.
After the movie, we headed up to the Animal Exhibits. They aren't super exciting compared to the live animals at the zoo, but it's kind of cool to get so close and see how big they really are! I let Landon out of the stroller and he got to run around with all the big kids. He thought he was pretty cool stuff.

There were about five other exhibits we could have gone and walked through, but it was getting very close to nap time, so we headed down into the atrium to eat some lunch.

The lighting was awesome in there, so I had fun snapping photos.

This is what they did when I said "look cool".

It was fun to get out and do something different, even if was a little crazy and crowded. Thanks again Vogelzangs!

Looks like so much fun even if it was crowded. We went last May and it was empty. But I think school groups were done with field trips by then. They have a great room for young kids to explore.
Our dudes are on their way to some serious women trouble if that's "cool." We have time to train them. Fun day! Let's do it next time when there aren't 120 field trip classes there.
